Surgery

At Animal Medical Center, our experienced veterinarians possess extensive knowledge in surgical procedures such as spays, neuters, mass removals, abscess repairs, exploratory surgery, foreign body removal, and more.

Our doctors will conduct an evaluation to determine if surgery is the best option for your pet’s condition. If surgery is deemed necessary, you can rest assured that we will take the utmost care of your pet and treat it as our own. Since every pet is unique, we complete an assessment prior to surgery so that we can screen for any abnormalities or conditions that may be problematic. We recommend that all patients be screened prior to anesthesia by means of laboratory tests to evaluate the liver, kidneys, blood protein and blood glucose.

To ensure your pet’s safety, we will use the information from our evaluations and take into consideration your pet’s species, breed, age, and health to create an anesthetic protocol best suited to your pet. Many surgeries do not require general anesthesia, but can be done under sedation and a local anesthesia. Pain control pre and post-surgery is our goal, and our focus is on a safe and successful surgical procedure.

At Animal Medical Center, we truly believe that the combination of our experience, advanced surgical care, and recovery procedures offer your pet the best chance for surgical success.

Whether your pet is of the age to be spayed or neutered, or needs a different surgical procedure, our doctors and staff are here for you and your pet. Animal Medical Center provides surgical care to pets in Jackson, Pearl, Madison, Clinton, Ridgeland, Brandon, and beyond.
