Radiography

Radiography is a valuable diagnostic tool that helps our veterinarians evaluate many issues that lie just below the surface of your pet’s skin. It produces 2 dimensional black and white images of bones, chest and abdominal organs. It is helpful in visualizing fractures, hip dysplasia, pneumonia, foreign objects, intestinal blockages, kidney and bladder stones. Having this service in-house at Animal Medical Center enables us to discover your pet’s problem and start the appropriate treatment as soon as possible.

Safety for your pet and our staff is assured with annual certification of our equipment and proper protective lead gear and lead lined walls.

Radiography is a painless procedure; however, sedation is often recommended to lower your pet’s anxiety and stress level and to prevent having to take repeat x-rays because of movement. We are also prepared to control pain associated with manipulating pets that may have fractures or arthritis.
